Subtitle shifter: fix out-of-sync subtitles

Captions showing up early or late? Move every line by the same amount. Use a positive number to make them later and a negative one to make them earlier.

Subtitle shifter

Runs entirely in your browser. Your file is never uploaded.

How it works

1

Add the subtitles

SRT or VTT. The output keeps the same format.

2

Enter the offset

In seconds, like 1.5 or -0.75. Positive means later.

3

Download

Every cue moves by exactly that amount.

FAQ

How do I know how much to shift?

Play the video, note when the first line is spoken, and compare it with the first cue's start time. The difference is your offset.

What if subtitles drift more over time?

That is a frame-rate mismatch, not a fixed offset, and a shifter cannot fix it. Re-making the captions from the video fixes it.

Is my file uploaded?

No. It runs in your browser.
