Who is responsible

Your videos and captions

The desktop app and the web version process audio and video entirely on your device. We do not upload, store or have access to your videos, transcripts or captions. The app downloads speech packs once from public model hosting (Hugging Face or GitHub); after that, captioning works offline. If you paste a Google Drive, Dropbox or other link, the app downloads that file directly from that service to your computer.

Purchases

Payments are handled by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your name, email, billing country and payment details to process the order, under Paddle's privacy policy. Paddle shares with us your email, country, order details and license status. We never see your full card details.

License activation

When you activate, validate or deactivate a license, the app sends your license key and a random device identifier to our license server (hosted on Cloudflare). We use this only to enforce the device limit and to revoke refunded licenses.

Waitlists and email

If you join a waitlist, we store your email address, the list you joined and the time, to tell you about that launch. We do not sell or share it. Ask us any time to remove it.

Website

This website is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser) for security and operations. We do not use advertising cookies or trackers.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@offlinecaptions.com. We keep purchase records as long as tax law requires. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or India's DPDP Act), you may also complain to your data protection authority.
